Strengths profile

You'll have an X-ray of how the person thinks, feels and behaves, of what makes them feel happy. You can use this information to set objectives and measure improvement.

Test center

IEPP's own app that allows you to have complete reports to present to your patients or clients with measures of strengths, optimism, gratitude, satisfaction, resilience, engagement, psychological and social well-being, etc.

This program
is for you?

YES If you are a professional psychologist who would like to discover tools to work from the perspective of well-being. The prevailing medical model focuses on the symptom or what the person lacks. PosPsy gives you scientific endorsement for what you are probably already doing intuitively.

YES If you love learning and discovering new ways to practice your profession, Positive Psychology will bring you a change of approach that has been shown to increase well-being and general satisfaction with life and even reduce symptoms of depression and the presence of anxiety.

YES If you are looking for practical training and want to develop yourself to another level as a professional. There are so many courses that sometimes it's difficult to choose which one is the best for this moment. One of the keys that usually helps in this decision is to ask yourself whether the course will really help you set everything in motion quickly and easily as a professional. This is one of the aspects of this program that was highly-valued by former students and that you can consult on Google where they rate us 4.8 stars out of 5.

YES If you want to live a personal development experience. Psychologists are professionals who are used to being those who help, to giving their knowledge to encourage the growth of others. Sometimes we forget how important and rewarding it can be to receive these techniques ourselves. Living Positive Psychology from within will give you a different vision of its effect.

Paradigm
shift

NO

It is not a symptom-centered approach.

It is not a competence-centered approach.

It is not a place to learn by downloading PDFs.

It is not based on intuition but on the scientific method.

Real-life case

Carlos says
he is depressive

Carlos is 28 years old and he is going to get married soon, but he had an affair and he feels guilty because he is very much in love with the woman he is going to marry.

He sees himself as a depressive man. His parents used to say that he was always the saddest out of all the siblings, that he cried a lot, that he was too sensitive.

He has been to several therapy sessions and courses of all kinds but nothing works for him, he seems to be improving but as time goes by he relapses again.

He came to me desperate for a solution, said that he was playing his last card, that he was tired of trying, and that this was the last time that he considered a psychological process.

When I graduated in Psychology I was trained to support people from a model based on the symptom. The person would come to me, I would help them "get rid of the discomfort", and they would be discharged. What happened to me frequently was that there were patients who came back after a while, with the same or a similar condition, and it was very frustrating to see that the work of many sessions did not last over time. It seemed that every critical situation the patient faced refreshed his symptoms again. As a psychologist I used to feel worn out in the sessions, I tried my best, but ended up exhausted.

When I heard about Positive Psychology it was like a breath of fresh air, like reconnecting with what made me study Psychology, helping people to feel better and happier with their lives.

With the other approach I would have done a full evaluation of Carlos to confirm the diagnosis of Depressive Disorder and would have focused first on working on his repetitive negative thoughts. With Positive Psychology I learned that health is much more than the absence of discomfort. One of the treasures that I take with me is that I have learned to make "positive diagnoses", with which I relate to the patient from his strengths and not only from his symptoms. And not only that, I have been able to provide a different value to the patient, because now I can help Carlos to be more aware of his resources so he can apply them in complex situations and also use them to create a life with meaning and where he can frequently experience moments of joy.

In 2008 we began to train professional psychologists.
The IEPP was the first European center to train people in Positive Psychology.
Back then, as psychologists we experienced the need to do a 180º in the way we understood change, complementing what we already knew with a different approach. That is why we have made an exhaustive compilation of the most effective exercises and resources to increase the well-being of people and organizational welfare.
We wanted to go one step further with this Master’s so that you can have all the techniques that allow you to, first, offer the best service and support and, therefore, achieve the best results in your processes when it comes to increasing the well-being of your patients or clients.
