Introduction to strengths as personal qualities that combine a feeling of energy, performance and authenticity, generating well-being and effectiveness when used. Strengths of values, competencies, traits and talents are distinguished, highlighting their dynamic and adaptive nature. Additionally, it explores how they express themselves in a balanced way, integrating themselves into consistent behaviors and actions.
This module will explore the foundations of the FORTE Method, understanding how it integrates concepts from recognized models such as VIA, Strengths Finder and Strengths Profile to develop an innovative approach based on the balanced use of strengths. They will learn to identify and classify 26 key strengths under the dimension of optimal functioning, understanding their impact on well-being and performance.
In this module, the 26 strengths of the FORTE Model will be presented, exploring its definition and the different levels of use (very present, balanced and not very present). Imbalances in the use of each strength and their implications for people's well-being are explained.
This module addresses the phases of the FORTE Method: preparation, identification and discovery of strengths, exploration of new uses, development and monitoring. Participants will learn how to take advantage of the information from a strengths profile in coaching, therapy or personal growth processes in a structured and adapted way.
A practical module to learn in detail how different profiles are interpreted, with practical cases, exercises and observations of real recorded sessions. They will acquire the necessary skills to interpret the results of the FORTE test, evaluating strengths in levels of balanced use, overuse and underuse, and will reflect on how these dynamics affect psychological health and personal flourishing.
This module introduces the strategy of "activating" strengths, which involves consciously increasing their use to maximize their positive impact in specific situations. Activating strengths is especially useful when a person needs additional energy or authenticity to achieve a goal. The process is based on evaluating whether the strength is relevant, efficient and can be used at its optimal point without overuse.
This module addresses how to reduce the presence of certain strengths when their excessive use can become an obstacle. Lowering strengths is essential to avoid friction in specific contexts and encourage flexibility. For example, a leader who reduces his or her directivity strength in a collaborative environment can facilitate better interpersonal relationships.
Combining strengths involves bringing together different strengths to create a synergistic and adaptive effect. This approach allows us to overcome barriers and address complex objectives. Combinations can involve balanced, rarely used or predominant strengths, depending on the context and the objective sought.
Discerning strengths means applying more thoughtful and contextualized strategies. This module highlights the importance of getting off “autopilot” and deliberately choosing which strengths to co-activate or moderate in specific situations. It is a key skill to face complex challenges strategically and effectively.
The module on equalizing strengths introduces the idea of adjusting the intensity of various strengths in real time to adapt to a dynamic environment. Inspired by the musical concept of equalization, this approach allows you to harmonize and balance strengths so that they work together efficiently, without any one standing out disproportionately.
This module teaches how to identify key phenomena such as strengths blindness, bias and sensitivity, and their impact on the effective use of strengths. Participants will learn strategies to work on self-efficacy, vital meaning and transitions with the application of the FORTE method.
In this module, possible errors in the practice of strengths development will be reviewed and linked to the key skills that are recommended to practice and refine to improve professional support. Participants will learn strategies to manage blocks and loops and acquire practical tools to explore strengths in a balanced way in dynamic and demanding contexts.
Participants will learn how to give an introductory workshop on working with strengths, with practical exercises to activate their use. Practical recommendations will be given for the application of the FORTE Method in groups, with the preparation of a workshop adapted to the needs of a specific target group (practice).
In this module, participants will learn to apply the FORTE Method in different contexts such as therapy, education or business. They will explore the different areas in which the method can be applied, and what other techniques it can be combined with to address challenges comprehensively.
