Flow Theory

Modelo de FlowFlow, also described as “Optimal Experience” is defined as a state in which the person is completely absorbed in an activity, feeling completely immersed, energized and focused in the task, while time is perceived as flying by and thoughts and actions happen without effort.

Flow happens when there is a balance between the challenges of the task or activity that is being carried out and the skills that are available to carry out the task.

The Flow model is considered as one of the leading activity-based theories of happiness that has been tracked back to ideas coming from Aristotle.

Its applications are very useful for educational and corporate settings as the theories gives clear recommendations about how to organize different tasks and activities in order to facilitate enjoyment and performance..
